Burn Pile

at

TURTLE ROCK PARK

 

* Begins April 5th;  Continues each Saturday & Sunday (from 8am-4pm),

through May 25th, weather permitting.

Call Public Works at 694-2140 for more information.

 

BURN PILE – ACCEPTABLE MATERIALS:  

Natural vegetation, shrubs, pine needles, grass, leaves, branches, limbs – ONLY.                  NO:  Stumps, treated wood, wood with nails or non-vegetation items.

 

NOTE: 

Please remember that, although the location is provided by Alpine County, the time and effort to actually burn the pile is provided by the Markleeville & Woodfords Fire Departments.  Please do not ignore this opportunity to make your home fire safe.  Also, please note that the purpose of the burn pile is to promote fire-safe clearance around buildings and is NOT intended for new construction clearing.

 

UNACCEPTABLE MATERIALS:

TIRES, TRASH, GARBAGE, HHW*, NON-VEGETATION ITEMS

Rocks, dirt, cement, stumps, treated wood, or any wood with nails

Construction debris, construction site clearing debris, or slash

Commercial business garbage, waste, or any other type of debris.

 

*HHW (Household Hazardous Waste):  Paint, solvents, oils, batteries, paint thinners, cleaning fluids, aersol cans, pesticides, & insecticides cannot be accepted.  Please call S. Tahoe Refuse/Douglas Disposal at 530-542-8366 for HHW disposal days & times.
