Defensible Space Inspections

Alpine County has contracted with the Lake Valley Fire Protection District to provide defensible space inspections in the Woodfords and Markleeville areas.  The inspections will begin the week of July 28, 2008 and continue until completed.  The intent of these inspections is to assist residents in protecting their lives and properties from the threat of wildfires; and to work toward bringing properties into compliance with the defensible space requirements of California law (Public Resource Code 4291.)

Residents are encouraged to be present during the inspections and can make appointments by calling (530) 577-2447 (CHIP.)
